The Alley of Highwood has been a North Shore staple since 1949.

The Alley has been a North Shore Staple since 1949. Originally named the Mary Jane Lanes, The Alley has seen many changes over the years. During the 50’s and 60’s it was a popular 10 lane bowling center that catered to North Shore bowlers seeking family entertainment and competitive bowling leagues. In the 70’s it was re-named Minstrel’s Alley and with the lanes covered over, it was a popular concert hall for well known acts such as Procul Harem, REO Speedwagon, Deep Purple, The Ramones, The Jump in the Saddle Band and Cheap Trick. Later, in the 80’s, the lanes were restored to their original condition and it has since become a popular venue for bowlers, special events, and corporate and private parties. In 2005, The Alley was purchased by new owners, with the vision of returning it to its glory days as the premier social hub for the community. We now offer automatic scoring, giant projection tvs, a full menu and bar, billiards, baggo, and a state of the art sound system for our "Rock and Bowl" events. Come in and check us out!

We Specialize in Private Events We specialize in all types of private events, including mitzvahs, birthday parties, corporate entertainment, team building, and reunions. Our events can range in size from a small group of 4-6 people up to 350 or more. Our event staff will handle it all and you can enjoy your party!
